The Communities That Care (CTC) process mobilizes families, schools, businesses, agencies, organizations, and young people themselves to work toward the goal of creating a safe, supportive environment for all. CTC identifies and builds on factors which help protect youth.  Those factors are:

• Opportunities

• Skills

• Recognition

• Bonds to family, schools & community

• Clear beliefs & healthy standards behavior

Concerned with young people as the future of the community, CTC utilized 30 years of research to identify the early predictors of problems behaviors.

Problem behaviors:

• Substance abuse

• Violence

• Teen Pregnancy

• Delinquency

• School Drop Out
