Strategies To Reduce Risk Factors
P.E.A.K After School Programming:
CKCTC's Providing Engaging Activities for Kids after school program is open to all students who are in 7th thru 12th grades and live within the Claysburg-Kimmel School District boundaries. The program runs Monday thru Thursday from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM and on Fridays from 2:300 PM to 4:30 PM. While attending the program students can get a snack, get tutoring help, take part in a variety of activities, and see presentations.
Coordinate with Existing Agencies, Business, Clubs & Organizations:
By working together, we hope to accomplish great things. Examples of collaboration include the Greenfield Township Clean Up with the township and the "Babysitting Beginnings" class with the Blair County Cooperative Extension Office.
Families That Care Parenting Workshop:
This free parent workshop is held twice a year. Parents with children in the 4th thru Senior High grades can participate in the 5-week program. By participating in this program, parents get help with setting ground rules and consequences, teaching their children refusal skills, controlling & managing anger, and help with delegating chores. Free childcare, door prizes and refreshments are offered!
PREP Room:
The PREP Room is designed for Providing Resources for Effective Parenting to assist parents in helping their young child develop their special talents and abilities. The PREP Room is open Monday thru Friday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 12:30 to 2:30 PM. On Monday evenings the programs is open from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This is a free program for everyone and is open every day school is in session.
